Frequently asked questions

Getting started

What is Revabid?

Revabid is the B2B auction platform for industrial surplus. We connect sellers offering off-grade stock, excess production or discontinued materials directly with global buyers, turning potential waste into immediate value.

Who can buy and sell on Revabid?

Revabid is built for business buyers and sellers trading industrial surplus. While most listings involve large volumes, such as full container loads, we also support smaller lots when they offer significant environmental impact. Every account goes through verification before bidding or listing.

Bidding & fees

How does bidding work?

Bids go in fixed minimum increments. If a bid comes in during the final five minutes, the closing time is extended (up to ten times per auction), so other bidders have time to respond.

What is the 5-minute extension rule?

To keep bidding fair and prevent last-second sniping, a bid placed within the final five minutes of an auction moves the closing time to five minutes after that bid. This can happen up to ten times per auction, so active bidders have time to respond. After the tenth extension, new bids no longer move the closing time.

What ways are there to buy on Revabid?

Two. You can place a bid, which competes with other bidders until the auction closes. Or, on selected lots, you can use Buy Now to secure the lot immediately at a fixed price set by the seller, skipping the auction entirely.

Can a bid be withdrawn?

No. A bid becomes binding once you confirm it, and it cannot be cancelled or withdrawn after that. Placing a bid takes two steps — place, then confirm — and you can still cancel up to the moment you confirm. Please review the details carefully before confirming.

What does Revabid charge?

Revabid works on a transparent dual commission model: buyer and seller each pay 10%. That is the whole fee, with no hidden surprises on your invoice. Additional costs apply only if you ask us for extra services, such as arranging transport or handling export customs documentation.

What if I need more information about a lot?

Revabid describes every lot as accurately as possible, with technical specifications, photos and available documentation. If something you need is missing, contact us before placing a bid and we will help.

Is the auction process secure and transparent?

Yes. Every auction runs on a tamper-proof digital audit log, so bidding data cannot be altered by anyone, including Revabid staff. If a bidder or seller does not trust an outcome, we can bring in an independent third party to review that case.

Payment & delivery

How and when do I pay for a won lot?

Once you win a lot it appears under "My trades" in your account and you receive an invoice right away. Payment is by bank transfer to Revabid, and the lot is released once payment is confirmed.

Who arranges shipping?

Sellers choose one of four Incoterms when listing a lot: EXW, FCA, FOB or FAS.

  • EXW (Ex Works): the buyer arranges everything, including export clearance, from collection at the seller's premises onward.
  • FCA (Free Carrier): the seller handles export clearance, the buyer arranges transport from there.
  • FOB (Free on Board): the seller handles export clearance and delivers the container to the nearest port, loading it onto the vessel nominated by the buyer. The buyer takes over once the goods are on board.
  • FAS (Free Alongside Ship): the seller handles export clearance and delivers the container to the nearest port, alongside the vessel nominated by the buyer. The buyer arranges loading and takes over from there.

In every case the buyer handles import formalities and duties at destination. Revabid can assist and guide with transport coordination and logistics throughout.

When do sellers get paid?

Once ownership has transferred to the buyer, the funds are released to the seller.

What happens if a buyer does not pay for a won lot?

If payment is not received within the deadline:

  • Account suspension: the buyer's account is suspended immediately and cannot place further bids.
  • Cancellation: Revabid dissolves the purchase agreement and the buyer forfeits the right to the lot.
  • Costs and damages: the buyer may be held liable for damages, administrative fees or costs arising from the default.
  • Further legal action: Revabid assesses each case individually to determine whether debt collection or legal proceedings follow.
